Q. Why set up a bridal registry for a down payment on a home?
A. Many couples struggle to accumulate enough funds for a down payment on their first home. Instead of the traditional bridal registry for china and crystal, they would prefer financial assistance to make their dream of owning a home a reality.
Q. How do we set up our wedding registry?
A. You may contact us by telephone to set up a registry or complete the online Registry Form at www.featherournest.com.
Q. How do we advise our family and friends that we are registered with FeatherOurNest?
A. The bridal couple will receive a sample of our attractive guest card advising instructions for gift giving. The cards are available for purchase to distribute to their guests or the couple may scan the sample for use on their wedding web site.
Q. What is the cost to register with FeatherOurNest?
A. A $300 fee is required to set up a wedding registry. The fee is fully refundable at the close of escrow on the home, provided the couple has used the services of a real estate professional referred by FeatherOurNest. If a couple chooses not to participate in our agent referral program or does not close escrow on their intended home purchase, the $300 fee is non-refundable and will be used to cover the costs of maintaining the Registry.
Q. How long will the Registry be maintained?
A. The Registry will be closed two weeks after the couple’s wedding date. The funds will be distributed to the bridal couple at that time.
Q. What if we do not receive sufficient funds in our Registry account to cover the full cost of the required down payment on our home?
A. The bridal couple will be personally responsible for any additional funds required.
Q. What is the refund policy if we decide to cancel our wedding plans or simply want to cancel the registry after it has been set up for us?
A. The $300 registry fee is non-refundable; however, all gifts received in the account will be given to the registered couple. It will be the couple’s responsibility to refund their contributors if they so desire.
Q. May we use our own real estate agent to assist us with our new home purchase?
A. Absolutely! A couple is welcome to use the agent of their choice; however, the $300 registry fee will not be refunded at the close of escrow if you have not completed the transaction using an agent referred by FeatherOurNest.
